Our Dentists

Tom O’Neill (BDS)GDC Number: 229258

Tom graduated from Cardiff in 2012 with prizes in Oral Surgery, Endodontics and Pharmacology. He has been part of the team at Moor Dental Care since 2015 and in 2017 was appointed by the Southwest Postgraduate Medical Education Deanery as an educational supervisor, allowing him to provide guidance to newly qualified dentists. Displaying a commitment to dental education, Tom has endeavoured to further his skills in all aspects of dentistry. In particular, Tom has an interest in dental implants, for which he accepts referrals from local dentists. He prides himself on his gentle and calming approach, whilst maintaining the highest standards of dental care. In his spare time, Tom enjoys spending time in the beautiful Devon country side, with his two Sprocker Spaniels, Benji and Wilf.

Catherine Bailey BDS DPDS (Dist)GDC Number: 153708

Catherine qualified from the University of Sheffield in 2008. She has been working at Moor Dental Care since it opened in February 2010. She completed a Diploma in Postgraduate Dental Studies from the University of Bristol in 2014, spending a year each studying Periodontology, Prosthetics and Surgical Skills. She passed with Distinction. Catherine enjoys all aspects of general dental practice, but especially helping to build nervous patient’s confidence in the surgery and seeing people being happy with a new smile. She strives to provide clear communication of all the available options and to deliver pain free and relaxing treatment. Catherine enjoys living and working in the West Country and enjoys making the most of the countryside, pilates and cooking.

Elisa Van Kleef B.D.S.GDC Number: 212477

Elisa Van Kleef qualified in 2011 from Peninsula College of Medicine and Dentistry and has been working at Moor Dental Care since 2012. Elisa enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and has a particular interest in periodontology, building patient confidence and providing a positive initial experience for children. Elisa has a very kind and caring approach towards her patients. Elisa is well respected among her colleagues. Elisa enjoys spending time with her family and walking her dogs.

Our Hygienists

Laura McCarthy (BSc)GDC Number: 140398

Laura first joined the team in 2007 as a dental nurse, but went on to do further study to become a dental therapist. In 2014 she qualified from Teesside University with BSc Hons Degree in Dental Hygiene & Therapy. She holds a caring, gentle and sympathetic manner and is a strong believer in preventative dentistry. Laura is known to her colleagues as a perfectionist and for her upbeat and bubbly personality.

Jo Elmes (BSc)GDC Number: 176324

Jo gained a BSc in dental hygiene therapy in 2013 when she qualified in Portsmouth University. She started working at Moor Dental Care from qualification. Jo is very good with dental phobic patients due to her gentle and compassionate nature. Under shared-care with the dentists she aids diagnosis, stabilisation, and monitoring of gum disease. As a therapist Jo is also able to carry out restorations amongst other tasks. Jo’s evidence-based approach to dental care has emphasis on prevention. She believes it is important to treat patients holistically, ensuring that she is not just treating ones mouth, but also the individual. Jo also is an associate lecturer at Plymouth University Peninsula School of Dentistry aiding the teaching of dental students and dental hygiene therapy students. In Jos’ spare time, she likes to use her passion for arts and crafts to renovate old furniture and restore to its former glory. She also enjoys to explore the great outdoors in her kayak or yacht.

Our Practice Manager

Sioux Allen

Sioux is an experienced practice manager who leads the teams at both Moor Dental Care and Dart Vale Dental Care. Previously, Sioux worked as a dental nurse for 23 years in the Group and in 2010 became a manager. The combination of these careers means that she has a strong understanding of all aspects of high quality dental practice and management. Sioux is greatly respected by all members of her team and is known for her kind and fair approach with patients as well as staff. Sioux lives in Newton Abbot with her husband and son. They enjoy cooking, walking and time with her family.
